Want to live like a local? Try experiencing a day on the farm by participating in one of the many Pocahontas County agritourism opportunities!


Agritourism Activities:

Maple Syrup Making farm visits will be open to the public from 10 AM to 4 PM WV Maple Days on February 24, 2018 and March 17, 2018 at these farms:
Frostmore Farm, located on Rt. 92 south of Dunmore, WV and north of Frost, WV.  Offers a year round roadside stand.
Fort Warwick Farm, just off Rt. 92 near Green Bank, is located ½ mile south of the Dollar General Store. Turn at the Deer Creek Bridge beside the Church of God and follow dirt road ½ mile.  

High Tunnel produce farming is a growing trend on small farms giving folks an efficient way to extend the produce growing season.  Learn more about High Tunnel production at these events:
Friday, April 27, 2018 Marlinton Middle School located 2 miles south of Marlinton on Rt. 219. Jarred fresh and refrigerated salsa and a variety of herb plants for sale. Open 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Friday, September 28, 2018  Marlinton Middle School, located 2 miles south of Marlinton on Rt. 219. Gourds, seasonal squash soups and produce for sale.  Open 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
June – September  ‘First Friday’ Linwood high tunnel tours, farmer’s market, food and music at the Linwood Library located at intersection of Rt. 66 and Snowshoe Road at the base of Snowshoe Mountain.

4-H and Future Farmers of America Livestock Show August 25, 2018  Meet the future farmers of our community and their livestock.  Pigs, cattle, sheep and goats are on site.  Held at the Marlinton Stockyards, located 1.5 miles north of Marlinton turn off Rt 219 on to Brush Country Road and then next right on  to King’s Cabin Road. Open 11 a.m. Show begins at noon. Sale begins at 7 p.m.
